Cutting-edge technology ensures quality.
Meeker Cedar operates multiple cedar mills in British Columbia, Canada. Mill locations were strategically chosen to be in close proximity to wind-protected cedar stock--which makes Meeker shakes lay flatter and resist cupping and curling. Each mill plays an important role in the process of manufacturing Meeker Cedar shakes. Operations in Port McNeill and Kamloops take raw logs and convert them into blocks for splitting. Then, the shake mill in Mission takes these pre-manufactured blocks and hand-splits them to make cedar shakes.
The custom manufacturing process Meeker has engineered streamlines the production of cedar shakes. Ultimately, this benefit is passed on to roofers and homeowners by maintaining a continuous supply of cedar shakes at a reasonable cost.

First, Western Red Cedar is harvested. |
| Next, raw cedar logs are cut down to 24" rounds. |
From here, raw cedar rounds are split into blocks. |
| Then, blocks are loaded and transported via river barge or truck to the shake mill in Mission. |
The pre-manufactured blocks are then hand-split to make cedar shakes. |
| Cedar shakes are then hand-sorted, bundled, and loaded for delivery anywhere within 10 days. |
